About Me
Welcome, I'm Joseph, an aspiring conservationist. I'm graduating from the University of Saskatchewan as a computer scientist, and returning in the fall to complete a Certificate in Sustainability. Originally wanting to go into game development, I'm now navigating a career pivot before my career really even begins. I love gaming, computers, and the internet, as well as adventuring and exploring outdoors. I love the beauty and value of nature. I believe in sustainability and the more fair and healthy world it encapsulates. Find out where you can reach/follow me on the socials page.

Twelve Weeks Project: As part of Word on the River, I wanted
to make a series of posts to catch my peers up to speed on the concepts
and ideas of sustainability I had become aware of throughout my degree.
Starting on January 17th, 2026, I planned to write and post an article
every Saturday for twelve weeks.
Due to the nature of the project, it was not as high priority as my course work, and was put on indefinite hold part way through the semester. I am now cancelling the project, as I don't think that requiring myself to research, write, and post the articles weekly was helpful.
I know that some of my peers mentioned that they enjoyed reading the articles, and I do want to return to them at some point in the future; however, this will not be anytime soon. I do want to revisit some of the topics I have already written about, but I'll need to figure out a way to notify interested readers when new articles get posted.
If you want to see the existing articles, you can check out Word On The River. -
Second Life Threads: Clothes, you probably wear them every
day. But in an ever growing industry, the amount of textile waste
produced is staggering. This is partly due to low quality materials
and craftsmanship, but it doesn't help that the skill of clothing
repair has fallen out of fashion.
As a capstone project for the Certificate in Sustainability, we were asked to create the project we wanted to, in order to address a sustainability issue in our community. I am glad to have joined the Second Life Threads team, whose goal was to reduce textile waste through action and education. You can check us out on Instagram to see some of the content we created for education and awareness.
